Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota Provides Support Vehicle To Retired Marine Running Across U.S. Raising Money for Veterans
Retired Marine Sergeant is running for 3,600 miles across the U.S.to raise money for our troops, and his support staff will be using a truck provided by Washington D.C. Metro area Toyota dealership.
ALEXANDRIA, Va.?November 19, 2012 ? Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota will be providing a Toyota Tundra pickup truck to retired Marine Sergeant Brendan O'Toole and his support staff for his cross-country Run For Veterans. Sgt. O'Toole started his 3,600-mile journey on Veterans Day, which aims to raise $2 million to support U.S. Armed Forces veterans, combat veterans and disabled veterans, as well as their families.
Sgt. O'Toole will average 15 miles per day starting in Oceanside, Calif. through Washington D.C. to Portland, Maine. If the premise sounds familiar, he was inspired by the scene in the movie "Forrest Gump" in which Tom Hanks' character traveled across the country.
His support staff, led by Marine veteran Corporal Kelly Foy, will travel with O'Toole across the country using the Tundra provided by Alexandria Toyota. The Tundra is also wrapped in a theme inspired by Marine fatigues with various military decals, including an American flag and a POW/MIA flag to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action.
According to the run's website, "the Run for Veterans will engage local communities, collaborate with existing organizations and work with local veteran non-profit groups to connect civilian and military personnel." The run invites anyone to run alongside Sgt. O'Toole throughout his journey to show support for our servicemen and women.
